Glee Club at First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs, FL
Friday, March 14, 2008

The day began with the men entertaining the wonderful staff at the Renaissance Hotel. Thank you for all your help in making our tour such a success!

When the Glee Club arrived at the church, we learned we’d again be performing for sold out crowds.

The Glee Club takes the stage for the first of two full concerts at First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs, FL.

There were more than 1300 in attendance for the first concert and close to 1500 for the second.

Junior Mike Meurer, sophomores Jon Hall & Jeremy Clifford and junior Matt White take center stage with “Great Day.”

Junior Rob Teall serenades PMO friend Gail Cordier with a little “Them There Eyes.”

The camera followed Rob during the “double run out” as he sent some L-O-V-E to PMO friend Mary Lou Hazelton.

After the first concert, sophomore Ryan McLean snapped a photo with his parents, Jennifer and Dennis.

Freshman Jimmy O’Connor and junior Jason Kasubjak show off the Glee Club Pete beanie, available for just $5.00. It’s a steal!

The men enjoyed an outstanding supper of pork, rice and green beans between concerts. Freshman Tyler Gentry, junior Lance Connolly, freshmen Charley Smith, David Wyant & David Pierrat and junior Andrew Claxton smile for the camera.

Before each concert, the audience and the Glee Club enjoyed watching the church’s “Bulletin Bloopers” on the televisions throughout the church.

By far the favorite “Bulletin Blooper.”

During the second concert, sophomore Jim Giberson rocked the sanctuary with his energizing rendition of “Mississippi Squirrel.”

Freshman Charley Smith made a new friend.

Senior manager Nick Clinkenbeard serenades PMO groupie Natalie King.

Junior Josh Freeman steals a kiss from PMO groupie Emilie Crabb.

After the concert, senior assistant manager Kevin Lavery got to know Glee Club alumnus Gibb Urek. He sang under the direction of Al Stewart from 1952-1953. Al served as PMO’s first full-time director.

Glee Club Director Gerritt VanderMeer with Sonya Eddy, daughter of Al Stewart.

Freshmen Jimmy O’Connor, John Lindstrom and Jason Young met up with incoming Purdue University freshman Matt Rall. Matt auditioned a couple weeks ago to be part of the Glee Club for 2008-2009. Thanks for making the trip. It was great to see you!

Glee Club Director Gerritt VanderMeer ends the evening with “Goodnight Ladies.”

Junior Adam Nagy showed our thanks and appreciation to Ken Blythe and all our friends at First Presbyterian Church for making our visit a roaring success. After performing two concerts for nearly 3000 fans, the men boarded the buses for the trip back to Ft. Lauderdale. Only one more day left!
