Are we there yet?!? The group is in high spirits as they take a quick pit stop during the five hour drive to Kruger National Park.

We made it! Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa covering more than 7,000 square miles.

During our stay in the park’s Skukuza rest camp, we lived in bungalows equipped with showers, toilets, beds and a kitchenette on the patio.

With only an hour of daylight left, we are determined to see some wildlife!

An impala! This type of gazelle is one of Kruger’s most populous animals.

Glee Club

The giraffes are huge! Even the babies can be almost six feet tall.

Glee Club

The Kudu, another type of gazelle, is one of the largest in the park.

It’s almost nightfall, but we still managed to see an elephant. Not bad for the first game drive!

Skukuza welcomed us with a wonderful candlelit dinner and we greeted the staff with a song.

Around the camp fire, tour director John Powell shares his musical talents as he reminds us, “Don’t worry, be happy!”
