Purduettes
Sparkling song
These women have their own “Rosie the Riveter” story — the foundation of their present-day mojo.
The Purduettes formed in 1942 during World War II when the Glee Club men marched off to service. As in factories across America, the women of Purdue were called upon to do “a man's job.” Thirteen women were chosen as the first Purduettes to fill in for the Glee Club and perform throughout the United States.
Today, the Purduettes are 40-plus possessing their own dynamic identity and glee club sound. Glitz, energy, polish, vibrancy and resonance are the Purduettes. These women are handpicked for their vocal talents to represent Purdue with superlative, feminine leadership.
The Purduettes travel the country, performing an eclectic repertoire of jazz, country, pop, show tunes, classics and more. With specially arranged music, their concerts swing, and each member is a potential soloist. Specialty acts entertain for events on and off campus.
