After our Fall Break Tour, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club got an opportunity to go to Kentucky for a short weekend trip. It was a relaxing weekend filled with great times that was spent with some amazing people.

Fortunately, our leave time was around noon today rather than a 3am leave time like last weekend. We were all excited to leave, as we knew it was going to be a fun-filled weekend. This was Casey Kloiber's home coming, and his family was in Lexington awaiting our arrival. It was almost a 5-hour bus ride, so we were able to get a lot of studying done on the way down.
Once we arrived at the Kloiber's we greeted them in their backyard and started playing football and basketball while dinner was being readied. Most of us played football in preparation for the Tenors vs. Basses football game tomorrow. For dinner, we had delicious pulled pork and desserts. There was plenty of things to do - socialize, ping pong, Warcraft III (a computer game), watch college football on TV, swim in their heated pool, or eat more!

The Big Game was today. Kickoff was at 9:30am and the basses sufferred a terrible defeat (27-0). I think Peter Tarrant even received a light concussion from when a bass tackled him. We played for a few hours and it was great to bond with all the guys.
After football, we changed and went straight to the Keeneland Horse Racing track. It is amazing to see the way people dress - it is more like a fashion show rather than a horse race! Many of the guys have dressed casually, probably sticking out a bit; but we don't care. We are just happy to be here! After the races, we went straight back to the Kloibers for dinner. They spoiled us with Lasagna, pasta, breadsticks, cheesecake, salad, and several helpings of each! We spent the remainder of the evening there, playing ping pong, watching TV, and eating the rest of their food. Our hosts came and picked us up so we could get some rest for the church service tomorrow.

Sunday is our final day in Kentucky. Our hosts took us to The Cathedral of Christ Our King, where the Kloibers regularly attend. We were to assist in leading worship by providing song during the service. It was a gorgeous church, with its stone walls, huge, colored-glass windows stretching to the ceiling, and a pipe organ that could ring chords in the ears of every worshipper in attendance. Following worship, we enjoyed fellowship with the church members and shared coffee and donuts together before getting on the bus to head home. After we said our goodbyes to everyone, we were off for the 5 hour bus ride back to good 'ol West Lafayette!
